| just a thought... thought i would throw it out there for "discussion" purposes... i think bowhunters are the best hunters. Obviously they have to let a lot of deer go by to shoot a big buck.. unless they are just plain lucky.. which happens sometimes.. but as most bow hunters know... u cant shoot a big buck were a big buck dont exist... but i will bet ya anything that a bow hunter and a slug hunter... both trained or both are similar to there hunting experience... obviously the slug hunter has an advantage... but they both are very good hunters... put them in a 620 acre..(section) of land.. who would get the "big buck"..... just a ? and i am intrested to see hunters replys... |

| Not sure how to vote, and it's our forum!! That's embarrassing. My vote is for the slug hunter. that's because of the weapon and all other things being equal. All things not being equal, i believe your bowhunter is typically a better woodsman and year in and year out will kill more mature deer than a hunter that only gun hunts. However, there are some great hunters out there that love to gun hunt only that bring em down. |

| thats what i was hopin would be the reply... and Know they're are gun hunters that only gun hunt.. but in my mind.. if you "just" gun hunt.. you dont have the time it takes to be able to figure out the "section" of land that you are huntin.. a bowhunter as im sure everyone knows.. has to let a lot of deer go under or by to get the deer he is after... so me personally would say the bowhunter.. but if they are both at equal knowledge of the land and factorin all that in.. i would say the slug hunter because he can shoot further and more times.. but thats the point.. its for discussion purposes and am sorry if im confusin ppl.. i guess i just like to "think outside the box".... thanks for the comment tho.. you hit the nail on the head! |
